| Q) On a Windows 95/98/Me system, the client software does not start automatically. I have to manually run shutdown9x.exe to start it. It then appears in my system tray. A) Have you installed the client using the install9x.bat batch file created by the Client-> Make client installation scripts menu in the main shutdown console tab. When the generated script is executed on a client computer it installs a registry entry (from sdclient9x.reg) which starts the shutdown9x.exe before a user logs in. When the program is invoked in this way it doesn't come up the system tray. If you are experiencing problems try removing the 98 client using the supplied program (uninstall9x.exe) from the client scripts and reinstalling.
